An IP or PBX switch for "Private Branch eXchange" is the evolution of the old TDM-based switches; a private telephone network used within a company. At present, the era of Unified Communications, IP switches are no longer straightforward voice platforms as they were before. A fragile line separates Unified Communications and IP Telephony.
