MapleStory maker purports to buy EA

Korean free-to-play game company Nexon (MapleStory, Combat Arms) has reportedly made a package to purchase Cheap MapleStory 2 Mesos , Battlefield, and Mass Effect publisher Electronic Arts, based on a Bloomberg video report.
The Bloomberg report cites an unnamed South Korean newspaper using the news and will not elaborate within the potential offer any way. An EA representative told GameSpot, "Only comment here is we don't discuss rumors or speculation about our business." Nexon chimed in for the matter, too, telling GameSpot, "Nexon's policy should be to never reply to rumors."
EA's shares are responding positively to your rumor, since the company's single-share value opened today at $15.76, well ahead in the $15.01 it closed at yesterday. As of press time, EA is trading at $15.81 per share.
Last week, research indicated EA was intending to lay off up to 1,000 staffers after underwhelming Star Wars: The Old Republic sales plus an expensive Battlefield 3 postlaunch marketing strategy. EA's fiscal year ended on March 31, and also the company will report its full-year fiscal results on May 7.
