How Robert Simonds Made $ 6 Billion on Box Office

In the last 4 years, STX Entertainment Chairman and CEO Robert Simonds, along with Bill McGlashan have been working hard to deliver immersive cross platform entertainment to audiences not only in the USA, but are also developing content for emerging markets. With this long ride of success, let's take a look back at Bob Simonds' career and how he established himself as a money maker in Hollywood, earning around $ 6 Billion on box office.
The Problem Child Beginning
 
Simonds made his production debut in Hollywood with the 1990 film Problem Child. The movie was released by Universal Studios, and starred John Ritter, Michael Oliver, Amy Yasbeck and Jack Warden. Problem Child was shown in 1769 theatres across the United States, and went on to earn $ 53 Million on the box office. The second mover Problem Child 2 was released in 1991, and was also a huge success amongst the audience. This marked as the beginning of Robert Simonds' career as a movie producer, and he went on to work with almost every big studio in Hollywood.
Adam Sandler Charm
 
Sandler and Simonds first worked together on Fox's 1994 film Airheads, which also starred Brendan Fraser and Steve Buscemi. While the movie did not do exceptionally well on the box office, the duo worked on numerous projects after that. Year after year, there were a series of Adam Sandler movies from various studios which were produced by Bob Simonds.
Films like The Wedding Singer, Bulletproof, Little Nicky were highly appreciated by the audience. Simonds and Sandler finally broke the box office with 1998 film The Waterboy by Buena Vista, earning $ 161 Million globally. In 1999, the duo again gained success with Sony's Big Daddy, which made $ 163 Million around the world.
Apart from the hit Adam Sandker movies, Simonds also produced highly successful and globally popular movies like Cheaper by the Dozen starring Steve Martin, The Pink Panther series again with Steve Martin and Beyonce, and This Means War starring Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hardy and Chris Pine.
Inception of STX Entertainment
 
Following his immense success as a producer, he set up STX Entertainment in 2014 along with Bill McGlashan from TPG Growth. Taking the lead in making it the next big thing in Hollywood, Robert Simonds, STX Entertainment Chairman and CEO started working towards developing cross platform immersive content for audiences around the world. The company has stated that it aims to unlock the direct value of the connection that big stars have with their fans. Their projects are not limited to producing mid budget films, but the company is also working on many new age media content like Facebook exclusive talk show Pop Now, and VR series The Limit under its digital entertainment division STXdigital.
